I think I understand why Italians are more relaxed about life. They know they have something solid here. Italy has a high concentration of history that is still part of everyday life. Ancient Roman sites exist alongside modern cities. Many medieval towns are still fully inhabited. Italy currently has the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites, leading with 60 sites as of mid-2024/2025, closely followed by China, with Germany, France, and Spain
